Take a Hike for BAG IT 2011

The 8^th Annual Take a Hike for BAG IT held Sunday, November 13 was a great success! Thanks to all who braved the rain and turned out for the biggest attendance to date! Over 300 people filled the Grand Ballroom at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort with many participating in a multi-level hike or meditation walk before the brunch. 

A silent auction and raffle featured many unusual and one-of-a-kind items and there were many smiles as attendees walked away with fabulous treasures. A live auction made its first appearance and will definitely be a repeat. A Miraval Resort stay and a San Diego Getaway for Two were highly-prized. 

A stunningly creative slide show by Rocky LaRose, our photographer extraordinaire, was featured. 

$90,000 was raised by the event….all will be used to provide BAG IT at no-charge to newly diagnosed cancer patients in Arizona. 

Thanks to our 70+ volunteers and everyone from the Tucson community that made the day a huge success!

Schedule of Events

Sunday, November 13, 2011, rain or shine, hikers and walkers had their choice:

• 7:00 am : 3-4 hour challenge hike to Maiden Pools
• 8:00 am : 2 hour hike of intermediate difficulty
• 9:00 am : 1 hour hike of moderate difficulty
• 9:00 am : 30-min. meditative walk on resort grounds
• 9:30 am : 30-min. meditative walk on resort grounds
• 10:00 am : Festivities & brunch in Loews Grand Ballroom
